Geography

Argenbuehl is situated in 662-761 meters altitude in the Allgäu region between the cities of cheeks and Isny. The headwaters of the wicked are the Lower and the Upper Argen which form the municipal boundaries to some extent. The second part of the name Buhl is to bring the hilly landscape in which the municipality is located, expressed.

History

The church has existed since 1 January 1972 and was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Christazhofen, Eglofs, iron resin Göttlishofen, Ratzenried and Siggen. The name Argenbuehl is a combination of joint ventures and Buhl. Their history is described in great detail in the description of the Oberamts cheeks of 1841. 1810 all of the above communities were assigned to the upper office cheeks. About the County cheeks the area came in 1973 to the district of Ravensburg.

  • Christazhofen belonged for centuries to the reign Trauchburg, so the counts, later the Prince of Waldburg- Zeil and Trauchburg.
  • Eglofs, occasionally attested as Meglofs and Megletz can boast that they have but Caesar had long time no dominion over him. 1661 Eglofs was left to the Earl of Abensperg and Traun and bought in 1804 by the Prince Windisch -Graetz. 1806, the area around Eglofs was awarded the Kingdom of Württemberg.

Traffic

The village is connected by several bus lines with surrounding cities, including Leutkirch, Isny and Wangen im Allgäu and belongs to the Upper Swabia Transport Association ( bodo ) to. In Ratzenried formerly existed a breakpoint on the railway line Kißlegg - Hergatz.

Education

In Eglofs and Ratzenried each is a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule. In Christazhofen and Eisenharz there are pure primary schools. There are four kindergartens in the municipality for the youngest residents.

Museum

The district Ratzenried houses the local museum, while in Eglofs is the Allgäu Swabian music archive. In Eisenharz a museum facility opened in 2009, which deals with the history of the place and the historic industrial milk utilization by the dairy Wunderlich and Nestle AG.
