Asnières-sur-Seine

Asnières- sur -Seine [ anjɛ ː ʀ ] (until 1968 was the official name Asnières ) is a town in the department of Hauts -de -Seine in France. It is located north-west of Paris and is part of the metropolitan area ( fr. banlieue ) of the metropolis. The city has 83 376 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) and an area of 4.82 km ². The height above sea level is given as 22 m to 43 m.

Among the main sights of the city belongs Cimetière des chiens, which opened in 1899, probably the world 's oldest pet cemetery. There is, inter alia, the grave of the world-famous by many movies and television movies dog Rin Tin Tin ( 1918-1932 ).

In the city there are, inter alia, operations of corporations L' Oréal, LVMH and Eiffage. With Paris Asnières is connected to the line 13 of the Métro, which on the eastern edge of the city, the last stop Asnières- Gennevilliers Les Courtilles. Just west of town is a train station SNCF.

Since 1959, Asnières- sur -Seine is a sister city of the district of Spandau in Berlin.
