Audibert - Lavirotte was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

Maurice Audibert and Emile Lavirotte made ​​from 1894 cars to order. In 1906 she founded in Lyon, the Société des voitures Audibert et Lavirotte and increased production. In 1898 it was renamed the SA des Anciens Établissements Audibert et Lavirotte. 1901 or 1902 production ended. A total of about 150 vehicles emerged. Berliet took over the company and employed Emile Lavirotte. Maurice Audibert joined Rochet -Schneider.

Rolling stock

The first model with a rear engine was similar to the German Benz. There were two-cylinder and four-cylinder engines. From 1900 the engines were installed in the bow, the power transfer was by chain to the rear axle.

A car of this brand is on display at the Musée des 24 Heures in Le Mans, another at the Musée Henri Malartre in Rochetaillée -sur -Saône River near Lyon.
