Rochet-Schneider

The SA of the Établissements Rochet -Schneider was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The company from Lyon began in 1894 with the production of automobiles. Licensed production caused by Florentia, FN, Martini and Nagant. 1932 ended the production of automobiles. Commercial vehicles were produced until 1951, when Berliet took over the company.

Rolling stock

The first model with a single-cylinder engine similar to the German Benz. Beginning in 1901, the 8 CV models shown with two-cylinder engine and 12 CV on four-cylinder engine as the role models of Panhard & Levassor engines front. Later unique models were produced. 1903 was the Model 20/22 CV on the market. Appeared in 1906, the Model 18 CV, whose engine had 4400 cc displacement. In 1907, the first six-cylinder model was introduced, it had 10,900 cc. 1911 was the offer among others from a four-cylinder model with 4800 cc capacity and a six-cylinder model with 5500 cc capacity. 1914 were six four-cylinder and six-cylinder models to choose from.

After the First World War there were the models 12 CV- 18 CV and 30 CV. 1929 were four four-cylinder and a six-cylinder model available.

Vehicles of this brand can be seen in several car museums, mainly in France.
