La Ponette

The SA des Automobiles La Ponette was a French manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The Société des Automobiles La Ponette was founded in 1909 in Chevreuse to automobile production. The brand name was La Ponette. Around 1920 the company was converted into a public company and the company moved to Clichy. 1925 production ended.

Rolling stock

The first model had a 8 hp single-cylinder engine with 827 cc displacement, which as a specialty had the radiator behind the engine, similar to the early Renault. It lightweight two-seater bodies were used. In 1912 a larger model with a four-cylinder engine of 1460 cc capacity Ballot. 1913 8 CV was adjusted.

After the First World War, only four-cylinder models were produced with engines of Ballot and SCAP came and 1700-2890 cc possessed.

A car of this brand is on display in the car museum vintage in Reninge in Belgium.
