Björn Kircheisen

Björn Kirch iron ( born August 6, 1983 in Erlabrunn ) is a German nordic combined.

Career

Kirch iron is police chief candidates and the competitive sports promotion project of the Federal Police, the Bad Endorfer model belonging. He starts for the WSV Johann George Town, the club of his home town in the Ore Mountains, and trained in the State Training Centre Klingenthal. In January 2002 he belegete in Val di Fiemme twice the third. In the following Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2002 in Schonach he secured in individual and team competition gold medal.

After the Junior World Cup success Kircheisen traveled as part of the team to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games to Salt Lake City. Once he reached a very good fifth in singles, he won the silver medal with the team. In the sprint he finished ninth. Back in the World Cup he scored until the end of the season only points standings. In the 2002/ 03 season Kircheisen began after weak results during the Summer Grand Prix surprising third place in Kuusamo. A few days later he celebrated in Trondheim, the first three World Cup victories in three World Cup races in a row. It remained for a few years, however, the only World Cup victory.

At the Nordic Junior World Championships 2003 in Sollefteå Kirch iron secured in both individual and team competition in the title and thus took three gold medals home with them. In the following Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme, he secured together with Thorsten Schmitt, Georg Hettich and Ronny Ackermann again the silver medal behind the successful Austrians. Back in the World Cup proved Kircheisen his good form once again finishing third in Oslo. In the overall World Cup standings, he reached a very good third place at the end. Also in the Sprint Cup standings, he was in third place.

On March 5, 2005 Kircheisen succeeded in Lahti his fourth World Cup victory. In the 2005/ 06 Olympic season he started weak, but could be again in January 2006 to fight back in the top. In Gundersen single in Harrachov he stood in second again on the podium. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 he stayed in two individual events as seventh out of the medal positions, but secured as early as 2002 with the team again silver. In the previous World Cup stage in Oslo Kircheisen again won the sprint race. As in 2002 /03, he finished the season again third in the overall World Cup and the Sprint Cup standings.

In the summer Kircheisen succeeded in the mass start in Klingenthal his first summer victory. In the 2006/07 season Kircheisen started by grow again. Only at the last World Cup stage before the World Cup he succeeded in Zakopane with third place in the mass start and the victory in the sprint again a top result, which is why he traveled strengthened the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo. After he there secured bronze in the sprint, he again won silver in the team. In March Kirch iron in Lahti celebrated his eighth overall World Cup victory.

Also in the 2007/ 08 season started Kircheisen again successful. He won the sprint race in Kuusamo and stood in second in the individual from Trondheim on the podium again. Located in Ramsau am Dachstein Kircheisen celebrated again two World Cup victories, but he was not able to end the season on these successes. However, he made it in the 2008 /09 season once again back to the top. After two singles and a team World Cup victory, he finished after the season fourth overall. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 Kircheisen won the team silver and was again successful in the single of the large hill and finished second.

At the Olympic season 2009/10 Kircheisen fought again with constant power. However, he won a World Cup in Ramsau again and stood third in Oberhof there again on the podium. With the team he won a little later the Team World Cup in Schonach. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver, it was enough for iron church in the team competition after two silver medals in 2002 and 2006 for the first time only for bronze. In the two individual competitions he remained as 20 and 22 without any chance of a medal.

A year later, at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo he could in the individual competitions also no longer end up in the world rankings. However, he won both team competitions again two silver medals with the team. In the first World Cup after the World Cup, he won his 15th individual World Cup event in Lahti. However, Kirch iron could not achieve constant top performance and more with his now almost 30 years. Often he had to be content with placements outside the top 10.

Shortly before the 2013 Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme Kircheisen succeeded in Almaty succeeded Kircheisen the victory in the individual Gundersen, after he had successfully previously in Sochi with the team. At the World Cup itself Kirch iron bronze secured again in Gundersen single on the normal hill. With the team, he missed the first time clearly a sixth medal in the team competition.

For the 2013/14 season Kircheisen succeeded in Tchaikovsky in the absence of the best World Cup twice a second place.
