Boris Avrukh

Boris Awruch (Hebrew בוריס אברוך, FIDE spelling Boris Avrukh; born February 10, 1978 in Karaganda ) is an Israeli chess player Kazakh origin. He became an International Master in 1993 and he has been since 1997 grandmasters.

Life

Starting yet for the Soviet Union won Awruch 1990 World Youth Championships U12. In 1995 he emigrated to Israel. Since 1998 he is part of the permanent occupation of the Israeli national team, with which he participated in six Chess Olympiads until 2008. Here, he won three medals: gold in 1998 as the best second reservist, bronze in 2006 as the best player on the fourth board, silver at the 2008 Chess Olympiad in Dresden with the team.

In 2005 he played in the national team at the World Team Championship in Beersheba, and won bronze for its result on board four. He also won four silver medals at European Team Championships: twice with the team (2003 and 2005) and twice for his individual income ( in 2005 for the result on the fourth board, as well as due to its Ratingperformance ). From 2007 to 2009 he played in the chess Bundesliga for SC Remagen.

In international tournaments he scored numerous successes: he won, among others, in 2000 at the B tournament in Wijk aan Zee ( shared with Sergey Tiviakov and Alexander Onischuk ), in Biel ( Master Tournament ) 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006, as well as in Andorra 2001 in. 2000 ( shared with Alik Gershon ) and 2008, he was Israeli national champion. In 2009 he succeeded in shared first places in the policies Cup in Copenhagen ( where he, among others, Vladimir Malakhov defeated ) and the Jubilee Open the Zurich Chess Club ( where he could win against Alexander Morozevich among others ).

In 2008 he published the first volume of 1.d4 (ISBN 1-906552-05-3 ). In it, he presents an opening repertoire for White in which the Catalan opening plays a central role. Volume 2 (ISBN 1-906552-33-9 ) was published in 2010.

Awruch is also active as a coach and is secondary. In the NH Chess Tournament 2010, he supervised Fabiano Caruana. 2012 Boris Awruch received the title of FIDE Senior Trainer.
