Nigel Davies (chess player)

Nigel Rodney Davies ( born July 31, 1960 in Southport ) is an English chess player and coach.

Life

In 1979 he became British Junior Champion U21. In 1982, he won the title of International Master. In 1987 he won the British Championship in rapid chess. From 1991 to 1993 he played for the Israeli Chess Federation. Since 1993 he is the Grand Master. Since 1994 he has been working as a chess coach and author of numerous chess books and instructional videos. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as a trader for a hedge fund.

Since September 2009, Davies has not played a game more -evaluated. His Elo rating is unchanged since 2494, so he is ranked 21 of the British rankings. In January 1995, he reached his highest ever Elo rating of 2530th

Chess team

National

In 1989 he played in the European Team Championship on top board for Wales, scoring 5.5 points from 9 games .. With the English team, he participated in the qualification for the European Team Championship in 1983.

Chess club

In the British Four Nations Chess League Davies played in the 1997/98 season at the Barbican Chess Club in the 1999/2000 season at White Rose from 2003 to 2007, Numerica 3Cs (from 2005 3Cs ) and from 2007 to 2009 at The Gambit ADs. In the German Chess Bundesliga Davies played in the 1985/86 season for the SK Zehlendorf and in the season 1987/88 for the SC Kreuzberg.
