Anthony Kosten

Anthony Cornelius costs ( born July 24, 1958 in London ) is an English chess player and chess author. His books about chess openings usually appeared under the name Tony costs. The title International Master is awarded to him in 1984 and the Grandmaster title in 1990. Since 2002 he plays for the French Chess Federation.

He is married to the chess player Gyöngyvér Forintos (born 1967 ), a daughter of the Hungarian grandmaster Győző Forintos, and lives in the Auvergne region. He runs the website chesspublishing.com. His current Elo rating is 2506 (as of January 2010), his previous highest was in 2551 from July to December 2002.

At the British Individual Championship 1982 in Torquay, he finished shared third place.

Team Championships

With the England team, he participated in the European Championships in 1989 in Haifa, where he received a bronze medal for his individual score of 5 points from 7 games on the first reserve board. In 1990 he took part in the first VISA Chess Summits for England. England reached the second place.
