Büetigen is a municipality in the administrative district in the canton of Bern Seeland in Switzerland.
Geography
Büetigen adjacent to this creek in Buren, Dotzigen, Schwadernau, Studen ( BE) and Lyss.
Population
Büetigen has grown considerably in recent years thanks to housing estates. The construction of the A5 motorway from Solothurn to Biel / Bienne has upgraded the site.
Policy
In addition to the municipality, there is a civic community in Büetigen. The legislative branch is formed by the municipal assembly. The council consists of five members. Mayor Fritz Linder (2009).
The voter shares of the parties at the national elections of 2011 were: SVP 39.9 %, 18.9 % BDP, SP 14.8 %, FDP 6.8 %, 5.2 % GPS, glp 4.5 %, EDU 3.1 %, 1.6 % CVP, EPP 1.4 %.
Archeology
In Chalchgraben / Burghubel, there is the remains of an undated earthworks wooden castle, of which are also not aware of written sources.
Others
Büetigen belongs since 2000 to the Association of Municipalities upper Buren Fire Department Office and forms with the communities Lyss ( district Busswil ) This creek and Dotizgen a joint fire department. Commander is Major Peter Frick Büetigen. A large fire occurred in 1998, when the restaurant burned down Grape on the ground. The last big fire with over 100 firefighters in action occurred on 23 August 2012 as a farmhouse burned down on Oberbergweg.
