Canosa Sannita

Canosa Sannita is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1420 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region. The municipality is situated approximately 13 kilometers east-southeast of Chieti.

History

In the 9th century, the town was founded by the Lombards and was soon under the rule of the Abbey of Montecassino. 1113 was the Bishop of Chieti transmit the village.

Economy and Transport

In the town of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is produced. In the neighboring village of Tollo the common railway station is on the Adriatic coast railway.
