Casalbordino

Casalbordino is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6252 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region. The community is located about 42 kilometers southeast of Chieti directly on the Adriatic Sea ( the village about 8 km inland ). The coastline is Costa dei trabocchi or " small Normandy " - called - because of the climate.

History

The place or the community has retained its original name after the Condottiere Roberto Bordinus. It was here at the settlement area of ​​Frentanians, so that settlement remains are detectable as early as the 2nd century BC. 971 St. John's Abbey was founded in today's district Santini.

Traffic
