The Coloma Township is one of 22 townships in Whiteside County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, the Coloma Township 11 371 inhabitants.
Geography
The Coloma Township lies on the southern banks of the Rock River in northwestern Illinois. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa, is about 40 west. The border with Wisconsin is located around 90 km north.
The Coloma Township is located at 41 ° 46'17 " north latitude and 89 ° 41'26 " west longitude and extending over 29 sq km, spread over 26.15 km ² land and 2.85 km ² water surface.
The Coloma Township lies to the east of Whiteside County and is bordered to the east by the Lee County. Within the Whiteside County the Coloma Township is bordered to the south by the Montmorency Township, in the southwest on the Hume Township, on the west by the Hopkins Township and the north by the Sterling Township.
Traffic
In the extreme southeast of Interstate 88 leads, the southern bypass of the city of Rock Falls, through the Coloma Rownship. Within the Township of U.S. Highway 30 crosses the Illinois State Route 40, which crosses a bridge over the Rock River and thus leads from the Township addition. All other roads are County Roads or more subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
