The Hume Township is one of 22 townships in Whiteside County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, Hume Township had 411 inhabitants.
The Hume Township is located at 41 ° 43'04 " north latitude and 89 ° 47'51 " west longitude and extending over 77.95 km ², spread to 76.4 km ² land and 1.55 km ² water surface.
The Hume Township is located in the southeastern center of Whiteside County and is bordered to the north by the Hopkins Township, in the northeast on the Coloma Township, on the east by the Montmorency Township, to the southeast by the Hahnaman Township, on the south by the Tampico Township, on the west by the Prophetstown Township, and on the northwest by the Lyndon Township.
Traffic
Interstate 88, which connects the Quad Cities with Chicago, leads in east-west direction through the northern corner of the Township. Thanks to the southwest of the township lead the Illinois State Route 172 All other roads are County Roads or more subordinate and partly unpaved roadways.
With the Whiteside County Airport is a small airfield located about 10 km east of the Hume Township. The nearest major airports are located about 95 km north-east Chicago Rockford International Airport and 80 km south west Quad City International Airport.
