Desselbrunn

Desselbrunn is a municipality in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 1722 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Vöcklabruck.

Geography

Desselbrunn is located on 421 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 5.8 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 6.2 km. The total area is 17.4 km ². 21.8 % of the area is forested, 66.7 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

According to legend, Desselbrunn was founded by Duke Tassilo when he lost his way while hunting in the woods between Ager and Traun, exhausted and found a source of gratitude founded a church.   • Parish Church: The old parish church is a late Gothic religious building with a mighty tower, whose onion-shaped dome was placed in the Baroque period.
