Redlham

Redlham is a municipality in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 1465 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Vöcklabruck.

Geography

Redlham is located on 403 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The expansion is 4.7 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4 km away. The total area is 8.04 km ². 8.2% of the area is forested, 76.6 % of the land used for agriculture and 15.2 % are land.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Divided by a forward link beam, which is skewed wavy undulating up and down just limited and of blue and silver; top in gold a blue cornflower, below in red with a silver, some storm blade. The municipality colors are red and yellow.

The coat of arms was adopted on 21 January 1985 by the Upper Austrian. Awarded state government. The blue creek that divides the coat of arms diagonally, refers to the Redlbach, whose name also forming a part of the municipality of origin. The white part skew indicates that the Vienna main road ( B1) and the parallel to its western railway ÖBB divides the municipal area. The cornflower blossom symbolizes the existing agriculture in the municipality. The silver blade refers to commerce and industry, especially on the rich gravel deposits.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. The community seems Redlham first documented in 1300 under the name Roetelhaim and about 1500 then Retlham. However, it is undisputed that the territory of the present municipality Redlham was inhabited much earlier. The municipalities with the "-ing " in the name ( Hainprechting, Jebing, Piesing, Fisching ) suggest that the church must have been settled already during the time of acquisition of land by the Bavarians in the 6th and 7th century AD. Redlham formerly belonged most of the time to the basic rule Puchheim. The Municipalities Act of 1850 declared Redlham then as an autonomous community, but which has been merged into an administrative community with Oberndorf and Schlattmann. The first mayor was Mr. Johann Fellner before September 1, 1850, the municipality Redlham. The management community was disbanded in 1931 and since then Redlham is managed independently.

Policy

Mayor since 2003 Johann Forstinger of the ÖVP. He was elected to the mayoral election in October 2009 with 86.58 % again.

Population Development

In 1991, the municipality had 1230 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 1309 inhabitants. On 31 October 2010 there were 1437 inhabitants - this represents an increase of 16.83 %.
