Swan City is a town in Upper Austria in Vöcklabruck district in Hausruckviertel with 4058 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Vöcklabruck.

Geographical Location

Schwan city is located on 389 m altitude in Hausruckviertel. The extension from north to south is 2 km, from west to east 2.1 km away. The total area is 2.6 km ². 3.7% of the area is forested, 44.4 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

The Story of Swan city dates back to the time of the Illyrians and Celts. They founded near the present city center, a settlement called Tergolape ( "Little market on the water"). During the Roman colonial period was due to the favorable location on the main road Ovilava ( catfish ) - Juvavum (Salzburg) built a post office. Sports

The ÖTB Turnverein swan city is one of the oldest clubs in the city, founded in 1870. Activities range from mother-child gymnastics, aerobics on the way to gymnastics and volleyball in 12 weekly units.

The Swan townspeople football club SC Swan city center was in season 2004/2005 Master of Regional and played with it in the second highest Austrian playing level, the First League. According to financial problems of the club but in 2008 sold the license to the SC Magna Wiener Neustadt.

Even the swan townspeople Alpine Club is very active in the issue of child care.
