Duncan Mackay (musician)

Duncan Mackay ( born July 2, 1950 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England ) is an English symphonic rock singer, keyboardist, composer and arranger. He played with Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, Colosseum II, 10cc, The Alan Parsons Project, Budgie, Camel and Kate Bush.

Career

He began his musical career by playing the violin. In 1970 he was invited to go with members of the Sergio Mendes band on tour in Brazil and South Africa. During this time he composed the first time and took his first solo album on Chimera in South Africa. In the early 1970s, Mackay developed under the name of Branch Office his distinctive keyboard technique.

Mackay returned in 1973 returned to England to play in Ginger Baker's new band. He then joined the band Colosseum II with Gary Moore and Jon Hiseman on guitar. In 1975 he became a member of Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, the highlight was the single Make Me Smile ( Come Up and See Me).
