Dušníky

Dušníky ( German Duschnik ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers west from Roudnice and belongs to Okres Litoměřice.

Geography

The village is located on the panel between the valleys of the Elbe and Eger. East of the village the route of the motorway is 55 D8/Europastraße with the exit 35 " Doksany " in the north. By Dušníky leads the state road 608 between Veltrusy and Terezín along.

Neighboring towns are Nové Dvory and Chvalín in the north, Nový Mlýn in the northeast, Podlusky in the east, Přestavlky in the south, Nížebohy in the southwest, and Hradcany Písty in the west and Hostěnice and Kliment in the northwest.

History

The first mention was in 1226, when King Ottokar I. Přemysl half of the reign nad Ohri Budyně associated village donated the monastery Doksany. At the transition from the 15th to the 16th century, the lords of Ileburg had Charvatce on the upper part of Dušníky. After several changes of ownership bought the abbot of the monastery Doksany, Norbert Hofmann, on 12 March 1658 Oberndorf by Dorota Smrčková. 1796 was the first school house.

The estate served in the Napoleonic Wars as a military hospital and it was created a cemetery to which the chapel commemorates the road to Nížebohy. 21 people died in 1832 in a cholera epidemic. 1913, the new school was opened and in 1920 the village had 403 inhabitants.
