Geographical location

Emmingen- Liptingen is on the Hegaualb, the southern slope of the Swabian Alb, ie south of the Upper Danube.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north by the county town of Tuttlingen, to the east by Neuhausen ob Eck, to the south Eigeltingen in Konstanz district and on the west by the municipality of Hattingen Immendingen.

Emmingen- Liptingen consists of the two former municipalities Emmingen from Egg and Liptingen with a total of 24 villages, hamlets, farms and houses. History

Emmingen was first mentioned in 820 as Emminga.

Liptingen was first mentioned as Liubdahinga in a deed of the monastery of St. Gall in 761 and therefore is considered the oldest municipality in the district of Tuttlingen.

In the area of the district Emmingen from the Egg are the remains of Wallburg castle court Zoller.

Emmingen came 1806 Baden, Liptingen 1810.

After the founding of the Army airfield in neighboring Neuhausen ob Eck a mock airfield was built to ward off potential air attacks on the actual airfield on the road between Emmingen and Liptingen in 1938.

Until the district reform in the districts in different counties, Emmingen were from Egg at the former district of Donaueschingen, Liptingen the former county Stockach. From the formerly independent communities Emmingen from Egg and Liptingen the municipality reform in Baden- Württemberg was the new church from Emmingen Egg formed on 1 January 1975, which was later renamed Emmingen- Liptingen in the frame.

Coat of arms

The deer rod is the coat of arms of 1895 created Liptingen removed. It refers to the former membership of the place to Landgraviate Nellenburg to 1805.

Nature

Traffic

From Tuttlingen extend the federal highway 14 Stockach -Stuttgart and the federal highway 311 to the district Emmingen- Liptingen. While the B 311 branches off toward Worndorf, the B 14 leads to Litpingen passing on to the "shoe Franz".
