Flor-de-Lis

Flor -de- Lis is a band from Portugal. The musicians represented Portugal at Euro 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.

Band History

Founded in 2004, Group Flor -de -Lis consists of the members Daniela Varela (vocals), Paulo Pereira ( wind instruments ), José Camacho (guitar, Portuguese guitar ), Jorge Marques (guitar, cavaquinho ), Ana Sofia Campeã (accordion) Rolando Amaral (bass) and Pedro Marques (drums). In its repertoire the musicians combine Portuguese folk music with modern pop music. In addition, can be found in her songs influences of Latin American and African music.

In 2009, Flor -de- lis with a selected one of first 24 by a jury lectures on Portuguese music festival Festival da Canção part that serves as a national preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest at the same time. At the final held on 27 February 2009 at the Teatro Camões Lisbon they won the title Todas as ruas do amor ( German: "All the Streets of Love " ), the national finals of the last twelve participants. In the vote, a jury's decision and the televoting from the Portuguese television viewers was seen half each. The band could qualify her song for the finals of Euro Vision Song Contest 2009 in the second semi-final in Moscow Olimpijski Arena in comparison with 18 other musical performances on May 14, 2009. There they occupied in the victory of the Norwegian Alexander Rybak a 15th place.
