Frédéric Etherlinck

Frédéric Etherlinck ( artist name Etherlinck; born 1968 in Brussels) is a Belgian singer.

Biography

Etherlinck was born in Brussels, but lived with his parents until 1977, in Los Angeles in the United States. Subsequently, the family moved for three years to Nice before she returned to Brussels. He took lessons in singing and drums and played at the beginning of his musical career mainly in bars and cabarets. In 1995 he took part to the Euro Vision Song Contest on TV station RTBF Belgian Walloon organized by the preliminary round. With the title La voix est libre he was up against nine other artists and was able to just push through with 58 points and six points ahead of the second-placed singer Belinda. When Euro Vision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin, he was less successful: With only eight points ( one from Austria and seven from Spain), he finished 20th place among 23 participants. His competition entry has been released as a single and reached the 21th place in the Walloon charts. The single was able to hold six weeks in the charts. The shortly thereafter published album Les années lumières was not a success and could not be placed in the charts.
