Jacques Raymond

Jacques Raymond ( born October 13, 1938 in Temse Jozef Remon ) is a Belgian singer.

Biography

Raymond became known when he took part in 1955 most of the talent show Ontdek de ( Discover the star). He participated in many programs on Belgian television in subsequent years as a singer. In 1961 he participated for the first time on Belgian preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest (Finale van de Belgian bijdrage dead het song festival ) part. With the title as per weent than ever laughs he finished second behind winner Bob Benny. Two years later he again took the preliminary round, which took place this time under the title Canzonissima, in part. With 292 points, just three points ahead of Lize brand he won the preliminary round with the song Waarom. When Euro Vision Song Contest 1963 in London, he ended up in back of the midfield and reached four points tenth place among 16 participants. Over the 1960s, he released singles in Dutch, German and French. In 1971 he again took part in the Euro Vision Song Contest, this time as a duet with Lily Castel. Originally, the duo had not participated in the Belgian preliminary round, but jumped in one of the duo Nicole & Hugo, it was suffering from yellow fever. With Goeiemorgen, tomorrow they occupied the 14th place among 18 participants. In the original version of the song was a huge commercial success in Belgium, Raymond and Castel have but it never released on vinyl. Raymond published in the 1970s, a few singles. In 1993 he was a jury member at the Belgian Eurovision Song Contest preliminary decision euros song.
