Geography
Great Twülpstedt lies between the Elm- Lappwald in the south and in the north Drömling. The municipality is located in the southwest of the velvet municipality Velpke and has an area of 36.43 km ². The population is around 2,600 (as of 2010 ).

History

Coat of arms
The coat of arms keeps the memory of a famous citizens awake. The Helmstedter professor and polymath Hermann Conring acquired in 1652 the local good. His grave monument was erected in the church.
