Street Description

Busan

The highway begins in the north of the port city of Busan, which has 3.6 million residents. Immediately followed by a junction with Route 6, a highway that runs through the east of the city to the port. The ports of Busan are among the fourth-largest in the world. The highway from here has 2 × 3 lanes and a concrete ceiling. On the north side of Busan is a toll station. First, the highway leading to the northwest. In the suburb Yangsan it crosses the 551 Expressway, which runs back to Busan. The highway is expanded there achtstreifig and then passes through the mountains with peaks up to 1,000 meters.

The motorway is the expansion state of six lanes west of Ulsan along, a city with 1.1 million inhabitants and home to the largest car factories in the world. The Expressway 16 connects Ulsan Expressway 1 in Gyeongju, about 80 kilometers northeast of Busan, the highway turns inland to the west. The highway follows a narrow valley, which is surrounded by low wooded hills and then leads into the city. The city has 2.5 million inhabitants and is the fourth largest city in the country.

Daegu

In Daegu the Expressway is expanded achtstreifig. On the east side of the city of Busan Expressway 55 Coming inserts and then performs on the north side of Daegu along. Then follows an interchange with the 20 Expressway, which runs through a mountainous route to Pohang on the east coast. The highway crosses the river Geumho twice and on the west side of Daegu follows a cross with the Expressway 55, which further leads in the direction of Chuncheon. In the south there is a cross with the Expressway 451, which is a connection between the Expressway 45 and Expressway 12. The highway is expanded achtsstreifig in this area and then turns north.

The highway then leads into the valley of the Nakdonggang, one of the major rivers in South Korea. It then follows the city with 375,000 inhabitants Gumi. Thereafter, the flow Nakdong is crossed and not much further followed by a junction with the Expressway 45, a north- south highway of Changwon after Chungju in the north and an alternative route to Seoul. The highway passes through Gimcheon, the center of South Korea, only with 2 × 3 lanes. This area is quite mountainous with narrow valleys and steep forested slopes. This part of the Expressway 1 is a concrete motorway.

Daejeon

The highway leads a bit to the west and then north and extends to the city of Daejeon, a city with 1.4 million inhabitants and one of the largest cities in the country which does not lie on the coast. On the east side of the city of Expressway 35 inserts and is then a part of the ring of Daejeon. The Expressway 1 and the Expressway 35 are then part of the northern ring road and expanded with six lanes. The motorway is only slightly higher than the town on the hillside because Daejeon is wedged between the mountains. On the north side of the city is a cross with the Expressway 251, which forms the western ring of Daejeon and represents a connection to the Expressway 25, available.

Just north of Daejeon are again eight lanes available and the highway runs through a wide valley. About 25 kilometers north of Daejeon ends of Expressway 30, an east-west highway to Sangju, a small town in the east. The Expressway 1 runs from here to the northwest with 2 × 3 lanes.

The Expressway 1 then leads toward the west coast of South Korea, but still in the country interior. Cheonan is a pretty big place with 540,000 inhabitants, about 80 kilometers south of Seoul. The highway is again achtstreifig for an intersection with the Expressway 25. In Pyeongtaek it crosses the Expressway 40, an east-west highway from the ports of Pyeontaek to Expressway 35 in the east. In this area there are already the first suburbs of Seoul.

Seoul

In the Osan Expressway 400, which runs to the south coast of Incheon is crossed. Then the Expressway 50, an east -west highway from Incheon to Gangneung on the east coast of South Korea is crossed. North of this intersection, the highway has a total of ten lanes. It follows one of the largest toll stations of South Korea with 30 toll booths. Along the highway are many high-rise buildings, although it is still 30 kilometers away from the center of Seoul. In Pangyo crossing the Expressway 100, the ring road of Seoul. The highway has expanded only achtstreifig.

Between the southern suburbs of Seoul and is a wooded mountain ridge, even after he passes abruptly in the densely populated area in the south of Seoul. The expressway crosses here a number of wide boulevards by shamrocks and the highway runs through residential neighborhoods and condominiums. Then it narrows down to 2 × 3 lanes. The highway ends at the southern bank of the Han River on a cross with Route 88
