Hobey Baker Award

The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is an ice hockey trophy in the U.S. National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA). It is awarded annually to the best male college hockey players. The award was named after former U.S. ice hockey player and heroes of the First World War, Amery Hobart Hare " Hobey " Baker ( born January 15, 1892December 21, 1918 ).

Trophy Design

The award consists of a bronze alloy is 40.64 centimeters ( 16 inches) tall and weighs 18 kg ( 40 pounds). It shows a hockey player in motion. As a model for the trophy was the gold medalist of the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid and NHL player Steve Christoff.

The annual winner, and his school receive a copy of each trophy.
