Hoslovice

Hoslovice ( German Hoslowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers northwest of Volyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Hoslovice is on the left above the valley of the brook Hoslovický creek on a ridge in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest. Northeast stems from the Němčický creek. In the north- east rise the Hurka ( 676 m) and the Mladotický vrch (703 m), to the east the Čekanka ( 668 m), in the south the Osičina (714 m) and the Chrasnice (711 m ) southwest of the Novoveský vrch ( 765 m ), the Buková skala ( 766 m), the Kůstrý (837 m ) and the Altán (845 m ) and northwest of the Hoslovický vrch ( 674 m).

Neighboring towns are Skudra and Zvotoky in the north, Hodějov, Zahorčice and Jetišov in the northeast, Němčice and Nihošovice in the east, Střídka and Radešov the southeast, Podhoslovičký, Pohodnice, Dřešínek, Hořejšice and Dobrš in the south, Drazov, Kváskovice and Novoveské Samoty the southwest, Nová Ves, Na Bláních, U Rejšků, Panské Mlýny and Prachař in the west and Strašice and Předměstí in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Hosstlowicze took place in 1352 in a deed of the Cross with the Red Star, which also is called a mill. At the end of the 15th century, the lords of Rosenberg acquired the goods Němčice, Zahorčice, Hodějov and Hoslovice. Since the Berni rula of 1654, the water mill and their owners can be detected. At the end of the 16th century Hoslovice was connected to the Good Němčice. Owners were the knights of Chřepický Modlíškovice. 1696 bought the Prague provost Johann Ignatz Baron Chanowsky Dlauhowesky Langendorf the Good Němčice. On 10 January 1701 he united in his will the goods and Němčice Hoděgow with the Good Kraselov to a Fideikommiss for his nephew Adam Joseph Freiherr Chanowsky Krasylowsky Dlauhowesky Langendorf. The Fideikommissgut thereafter remained always in possession of the Barons Chanowsky. Until the 19th century the village was known as Hostlovice. The first school was in the 19th century in a private home to teach at.

In 1840 Hoslowitz consisted of 64 houses with 448 inhabitants. 48 houses belonged to the estate Niemtschitz, eight to rule Wolin, seven to rule Sutrakonitz and one for Good Wohraženitz ( Ohrazenice ). In the village passed a magisterial sheep and two inns. Abstruse were a knacker and Häuslerchaluppe. Vicarage was Čestitz. Until the mid-19th century Hoslowitz always remained largely the dominion Niemtschitz in Fideikommissgut Niemtschitz including Krasilau submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hoslovice / Hoslowitz formed in 1850 with the district Skrobočov a municipality in the district team Strakonice and the jurisdiction Volyně. In 1890 Hoslovice consisted of 54 houses and had 700 Czech -speaking inhabitants. 1892 a new school building was inaugurated, which, however, was designed with little foresight for the einklassigen lessons. The volunteer fire department was founded in 1895. After 1904, the number of pupils had risen to over 100, had a second class are formed, which was provisionally taught in the old classroom at No. 52. 1920 lived in 68 houses of Hoslovice 412 people. Most of the inhabitants lived by agriculture; some men earned their living as wage laborers or in fungi, in northern Bohemia in brick kilns, other than construction workers in Saxony and the Rhineland. From 1 September 1926, the school was carried out in a dual-class new school building. 1949, the village was electrified. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the Okres Vimperk and came in 1960 after its cancellation back to Okres Strakonice back. 1964 Hodějov was incorporated. With the end of the school year 1967/68 instruction in Hoslovice was adjusted. The school building now serves as the municipal office.

The municipality consists of the villages Hoslovice Hodějov ( Hodejow ) Hoslovice ( Hoslowitz ) and Škrobočov ( Skrotschau ) and the settlements Podhoslovičký and Pohodnice.

Attractions

  • Watermill Podhoslovičký that since 1654 writing demonstrable mill probably dates from the 14th century. Dendrologic investigations of the ceiling structure of the memory showed that the wood in 1568 and 1569 struck trees originated. On 1 March 2005 the Jihočeský kraj acquired the mill from the family Hrant she owned since 1829, and transferred them to the Muzeum středního Pootaví Strakonice. The mill and its outbuildings have been restored in the same year. In 2008, a medieval open-air museum was opened in Podhoslovičký. It applies nationwide as the oldest surviving water mill and 2008 was declared a national cultural monument.
  • Telecommunications and observation tower, T-Mobile, northwest of Hoslovice on a secondary summit of Hoslovický vrch in 668 mnm, the 50 m high steel structure was completed in 2005 and has 29 m height in a freely accessible viewing platform
  • Chapel of St. Wenceslas in the town square of Hoslovice, it was built in 1902 and initially to St.. Dedicated to John of Nepomuk. During the first fair in 1930 it was dedicated to St. Wenceslas.
