Milejovice

Milejovice ( German Milli joke) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers south of Strakonice and belongs to Okres Strakonice.

Geography

Milejovice located between the valleys of Volyňka and Zorkovický creek to an area surrounded by hills saddle. To the east rises the 647 m high Vráž.

Neighboring towns are Jedraž in the north, and Sudkovice Kuřimany in the northeast, and Paračov Skály in the east, in the southeast Střítež, Neuslužice in the south, Volyně the southwest, Přechovice in the west and Hoštice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1315. Until the 19th century the place was called Milivice.
