Hypo-Meeting

The multi- fight meeting Götzis (also Mösle meeting or Hypo - Meeting after the sponsor Hypo Landesbank Vorarlberg ) is a track and field competition in the Austrian market town Götzis. The decathlon and heptathlon competition, which is considered the best all-around studded meeting of the season, is performed annually since 1975 in late May or early June in Möslestadion and is the most important sporting event in Vorarlberg.

The prize money is 100,000 Euros annually.

History

The event was founded in 1975 by Armin Hug, Konrad Lerch, Elmar Oberhauser and Werner Ströhle and moved in the following years to most of the world leaders in the decathlon and five respectively from 1981 in the Heptathlon.

So far, three decathlon world records were set in Götzis: 1980 and 1982 by Daley Thompson ( 8648 or 8730 points) and 2001 by Roman Šebrle ( 9026 points).

Šebrle succeeded as well as the heptathlete Carolina Kluft an extraordinary run of five wins in a row.
