The Hyundai Grandeur ( Hangul: 현대 그랜저 ) is a car model of the upper middle class and making it the largest model which was exported by Hyundai to Germany.

First generation
The first generation of the Hyundai Grandeur was based on the Mitsubishi Debonair at that time offered. Initially the car was available with a 2.0 or optionally with a 2.4 -liter four- cylinder engine, later, the engine range was complemented by a V6 engine with 3.0 liter displacement.
Second generation

Third Generation
Hyundai XG 30 (1998-2003)
The third generation came in December 1998 in the trade, to the U.S. market, however, only in 2001. In Europe and North America, this generation was sold as the Hyundai XG. You could first the XG 30 ( in North America as XG 300) purchase with a 3.0 L engine, later revised XG 350 with a 3.5 L engine. Both models had the same platform and the same range of engines as the Kia Opirus.
Initially, a 3.0-liter V6 with 138 kW ( 188 hp) was offered in some countries, the 2.5-liter V6 could be ordered from the Sonata.
In early 2003, a facelift and a name change to XG 350 (now with a 3.5-liter V6 with 145 kW/197 hp). For driving caused an electronically controlled 5 -speed automatic transmission, which, inter alia, adapted itself to the driver's driving style and also has a Tiptronic (H -Matic ) decreed.

Design
With an exterior length of nearly 4.90 meters and a width of about 1.80 meters, the Hyundai XG moved in the upper middle -class. On the body many chrome elements were used. At the front end lacked any reference to the brand identity, at the rear there was the Hyundai logo. Noteworthy were frameless side windows, which helped the vehicle to hints of a coupe. In addition, the Hyundai XG had a built- in rear window antenna.
The XG was only offered as a four-door notchback sedan.

Facelift
Mid-December 2009 was introduced in Korea a slightly revised version. The most striking changes are the wider grille and redesigned headlights with LED strip daytime running lights. Also, the tail lights were LED technology. The dual exhaust of the V6 engines is now sporting designed and fully integrated into the rear bumper. Here was also changed from the lambda to the lambda II series and this connected to six-speed manual instead of five- speed automatic gearbox. Apart from a Blinkerautomik, with flashes of the vehicle even after tapping the turn signal lever three times, there were no further changes.

Fifth generation
Hyundai Grandeur ( since 2011 )
On 13 January 2011, the fifth generation of the Hyundai Grandeur appeared. The design is based on the Hyundai Sonata YF, with a continuous band on the tail lights as the previous model.
On the drive side all have direct injection engines, the previous V6 engines were replaced by the Lambda II GDI series, as the base engine is the four-cylinder Theta II GDI use. As the first Korean vehicle of Grandeur HG offers a distance cruise control, which slows demand, in a abrupt braking leading vehicle to a stop. In Europe, the Grandeur is no longer offered.
