The construction phases

The first section was taken in 1992 in two stages into operation in July, first the section La Courneuve - Six Routes to Bobigny - Pablo Picasso ( July) and then in December, the portion from Saint- Denis station to La Courneuve - Six Routes (December).

A first extension of 2.9 km with 5 new routes to the east of the existing line of Bobigny to Noisy- le -Sec ( there with access to the RER E) was completed in December 2003.

On 15 November 2012, an extension to the west to 4.9 km between St. Denis and Asnières- Gennevilliers was put into operation: A total of 10 new stations emerged, with transfers to the RER lines C and D, to the Metro Line 13 and different railway lines.

Early track renewal (2006 - 2010)

The strong ridership for up to 115 000 passengers per day led to a strong stress on the route. The vibrations produced by the moving webs are transmitted to the ground and led to a fatigue of the bottom plates: They parted from the ground and broke into pieces. This led to uneven ground and in pedestrian areas, which in turn triggered falls. Why were renewed in the summer holidays of the years 2006 to 2010 in the oldest building phase the tracks and placed emphasis on a vibration-damping embedding of the rails in the ground. These tram service had to be interrupted. It was offered with limbs buses rail replacement bus service. The new rails to hold for 30 years.
