Jim Pugh

Jim Pugh ( born February 5, 1964 in Burbank, California ) is a former American professional tennis player.

He was one of the most successful men's doubles player in the late 1980s and early 1990s, especially on the side of Rick Leach and was also able to achieve some success in singles.

Career

With the finals in Hamburg and three tournament victories in 1987 his great career began in doubles. In the years 1987 to 1991, he won with Rick Leach seventeen tournaments, including the Australian Open in 1988 and 1989 and Wimbledon in 1990.

Pugh went 6 times with Leach for the U.S. in Davis Cup, winning all six games. In 1990 he reached the Davis Cup overall victory with the U.S..

Overall Pugh won 22 tournaments in doubles and one in singles and led in the years 1989 and 1990 at several times the double world rankings.
