John Hencken

John Frederick Hencken (* May 29, 1954 in Culver City ) is a retired American swimmer.

At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich he won the gold medal in the 200m breaststroke and bronze over 100m breaststroke. Four years later, at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, he won two gold medals over 100m breaststroke and the 4 × 100 m medley relay of the United States. In addition, he still won the silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke.

In 1988 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the international swimming sport.
