Kateřina Neumannová

Kateřina Neumannová? / I (* February 15, 1973 in Pisek ) is a former Czech cross-country skier.

At the beginning of their sports career Neumannová was also active as a mountain biker. She was third at the European Championships in 1995 and participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where she reached the 18th place. Then she concentrated on the cross-country skiing.

Neumannová won at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1997 Bronze 15 km freestyle at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games silver over 5 km classic and bronze in the 10 km pursuit at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 bronze over 5 km classic and at the 2002 Winter Olympics Silver 15 km freestyle and in the pursuit. After a baby break ( on 2 July 2003 her daughter Lucie was born ) she won the 2005 gold over the 10 km freestyle at the Nordic World Ski Championships.

At the 2006 Winter Olympics, she won the silver medal in Pragelato in the pursuit race over 15 kilometers, and the gold medal over 30 kilometers. Another gold medal was added at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo 2007, when she won the 10 km race in freestyle. To this end, the silver medal came in the 15 - km pursuit race.

In the Cross Country World Cup they won 18 races. To win the overall World Cup ranking, however, it was never enough, 2002 and 2005, she was each second. Neumannová was elected in 2006 to the Czech athlete of the year. After the 2006/ 07 season, she finished her career. For the 2009 World Cup in Liberec 2006 she was appointed as Honorary Vice President since August 2007, she worked as head of the organizing committee.
