Malcolm Kenneth "Kenny" Wharram ( born July 2, 1933, Ferris, North Bay, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( center ), who played from 1951 to 1969 for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

Career

During his youth, he played for the Galt Black Hawks in the Ontario Hockey Association. The first attempts for the Chicago Black Hawks to make the jump to the NHL, failed, and so he was sent in the first years in the American Hockey League, where he ran aground for the Buffalo Bisons.

The breakthrough in the NHL, he managed seven years after his NHL debut until the season 1958/59. In a series with Stan Mikita and Ted Lindsay, he blossomed and fell mainly because of its quickness on. In 1961 he won with the Blackhawks the Stanley Cup. In the 1960s, he made it three times in the top ten scorers in the NHL and was twice elected to the First All -Star Team.

Training camp for the season 1969/70 he felt after a training session severe pain in the chest. At the hospital, was diagnosed with myocarditis as a trigger for a heart rhythm disorder. It took a few weeks before he could leave the hospital. He was largely able to safely continue his life, but a return to the squad of the Blackhawks was not thinking.
