Königswalde

Königswalde ( Erzgebirge: Kinnisch'wall ) is a municipality on Pöhlbach in the Erzgebirge District, Saxony, Germany. Due to the still widely available Steinrücken as field boundaries Königswalde is considered one of the most distinctive Waldhufen villages in the Ore Mountains.

Geography

The Waldhufendorf Königswalde lies in a north-south direction in the valley of Pöhlbachs. The highest point is the Zigeunerfels with 737 m.

Neighboring communities

To the east of Königswalde is Jöhstadt, in the south borders the site to the Czech Republic, in the southwest Bears stone, in the west Sehmatal, in the northwest of Annaberg -Buchholz and in the north and northeast Mildenau

History

Around 1200 was the colonization of the right of Pöhlbaches ( East) located the local part. The place was under the rule of Waldburger and light grove was called. The left part of the Pöhlbaches located was settled in 1250 and originally belonged as part of the castle Schlettau to Bohemia. 1413 was designated as the Kunigswald place then to the monastery green grove, which rose in 1536 in the Official Green grove. The district was designated later as an official page.

1512 the eastern part of Paul of Thumbshirn was purchased, who later resold it to the town of Annaberg. The district was named Council side.

With the division of the Leipzig Council side came to the Alberti agents, the official page of the Ernestinians. It was only on November 1, 1875 united the two districts to a community.

Memorials

  • Memorial stone on the board Miihlenweg, near August- Bebel- Straße 40, in memory of the soldiers of the Wehrmacht, Otto Kressner from Annaberg ( born October 17, 1902), who was murdered at this location in April 1945 by SS men, because he his vacation by two days had exceeded.

Economy and infrastructure

For centuries, agriculture determines the location. In the 19th century settled in the valley some industries to. Most residents were employed in the neighboring towns. On 18 January 2008 received Iris Sellke - tenant of Gasthof & Pension Brettmühle - the Saxon founders Price 2008.

Traffic

The rail connection was Königswalde 1873 the Zschopautalbahn. This upper station was but 180 meters ( at 703 m above sea level. The upper station was abandoned around 2000.
