Kühlenthal

Kühlenthal is a municipality in the Swabian district of Augsburg and a member of the administrative community north village.

History

Since 1245 the local castle Kühlenthal was the seat of the Steward of Kühlenthal. In 1361 sold Susanna, who Sifrids of Kühlenthal widow, and her son Sifrid their rule in Kühlenthal to the Bishop of Augsburg Marquard I of Randeck. By 1803 the place was then owned by the Bishopric of Augsburg. Since 1806 the town belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
