Laguna Phuket Triathlon

The Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific ( or Ironman 70.3 Laguna Phuket) is taking place annually in December triathlon on the largest Thai island of Phuket.

History

This race is part of the Ironman 70.3 race series and goes over half the Ironman distance. The Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific is the succession of events since 1994 discharged in November or December Laguna Phuket Triathlon. This triathlon went over the distances 1.8 km swimming, 55 km cycling and 12 km running. The Laguna Phuket resort is situated on the north west coast of Phuket Island. The course record revenues in 2009 of the German Jan Frodeno with his winning time of 2:24:56 hours.

For the first time this competition was held here on December 5, 2010 - the Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific 2010 is licensed as Ironman 70.3 and is re-routing the first time on the half Ironman distance (1,9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running). The last Ironman 70.3 Asia- Pacific Championship was held on 2 December 2012, and the race is not to be continued in 2013.
