Leanda Cave

Leanda Cave Maire Rose (born 9 March 1978 in Louth ) is a British triathlete, Ironman champion (2011 ) and four -time World Champion (2002 Olympic Distance, Long Distance 2007; 2012 Ironman 70.3 and Ironman ).

Career

Leanda Cave began in 1994 with triathlon and since 2000 it starts as a professional triathlete. In 2001 she became European Champion in the U23 class and in the following year she was in Mexico World Champion Olympic distance (1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In 2007, she was in France and World Champion on the long distance (4 km swimming, 130 km cycling and 30 km running).

In October 2011, she won the Ironman Hawaii with a personal best time on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) in third place and in November she won her first Ironman in Arizona victory and could set a new personal best again.

In September 2012, she took on the half Ironman distance also the title of Ironman 70.3 World Champion. At the Ironman in Hawaii she could get the gold medal at the long distance in October.

Leanda Cave now lives in Tucson ( Arizona). She is married to the German triathletes Torsten Abel, who also trained. They will start for the UK.
