Langerringen is a municipality in the Swabian district of Augsburg and the seat of the administrative community Langerringen. The parish includes the hamlets of Langerringen with West -rings, Gennach and Schwabmühlhausen.

History

The local nobility of the nobles of Langerringen had here in the 12th and 13th centuries, is relocating They are called as ministeriales the Augsburg Bishopric several times. By 1300 they gave their episcopal fief again. In 1460, the cathedral chapter of Augsburg acquired the farm and other goods as a fief of the Bishopric of Augsburg and set in place a one Pflegamt. Until the 17th century the place was called Langerringen. Also, the district of West -rings belonged to the cathedral chapter of Augsburg. Since 1806 the town belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria. The village Langerringen lies on the high road, on the southern border of the district of Augsburg. It is characterized by two elongated streets and the Singoldaue. Aside from the construction areas in the northeast and northwest of the community, you will find a typical image of a village street.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, the formerly independent communities Gennach and Schwabmühlhausen were incorporated.
