Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture
The Autonomous Prefecture of Liangshan Yi (凉山 彝族 自治州, Liangshan Yizu zìzhìzhōu; Yi: ꆃ ꎭ in official transcription: NIEP sha, in IPA: [ nɛ21ʂa33 ] ) is located in southwest China's Sichuan province. Liangshan has an area of 60,423 km ² and about 4.1 million inhabitants ( 2002). Its capital is Xichang (西昌 市).
