Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth Koren

Linn -Kristin Riegelhuth Koren ( born August 1, 1984 in Ski, Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player. She plays at Larvik HK and the Norwegian national handball team. In 2008 she was elected to the World handball.

Career

In the club

Linn -Kristin Riegelhuth Koren began four years playing handball in her hometown at Ski Håndball IL, where she was coached by her mother, among other things. Up to the age of 15 she also played soccer. In 1999 she joined the club Holmlia Sportsklubb. A year later Riegelhuth joined Furuset Håndballklubb. This allowed the former youth player also earn playing time in the women's team, which took in the 1st Division, the second highest Norwegian league.

In 2002 Riegelhuth signed a contract with Norwegian club Larvik HK tip. As her teammate Kristine Duvholt Havnås became pregnant in the fall of 2002, she received great play from now on. In their first season playing in the right back or right winger left-hander won the championship at the same time. In the following seasons they developed in Larvik performance wearer. After Riegelhuth the scorer crown of the Norwegian Elite Series had to share with Linn Jorum Sulland in the season 2005/ 06, she asked a season later, with 221 hits in a season a new league record. In the summer of 2009 Riegelhuth joined the Danish first division club FCK Håndbold. On 2nd January 2010, she won the Danish Cup with FCK trained by Anja Andersen. In the regular season 2009/10, FCK won the first place. The Norwegian scored a total of 124 goals in 22 league games and finished with Ann Grete Nørgaard a split second in the scoring charts. In the play-offs of the 2009/10 season, however, failed to FCK, to qualify for the championship final.

In summer 2010 Riegelhuth returned to Larvik HK. With Larvik she won in 2011, 2012 and 2013 the championship and in 2011 the EHF Champions League.

In the National Team

Riegelhuth Koren grazed initially 14 times on the jersey of the Norwegian youth national team. Then she came 27 times for the Norwegian junior selection for use with which she won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championship in 2003.

The left-hander was on 23 September 2003 her debut in the senior team. That same year, she participated with the World Cup at their first major tournament. After Norway failed to qualify for the Olympic Games, Riegelhuth belonged at the European Championships in 2004 at the Norwegian squad. With Norway they reached the final, which Norway won 27:25 against Denmark. Riegelhuth this contributed five goals to the final victory. At the 2005 World Championships she could not take part due to a serious hand injury.

Riegelhuth returned in April 2006, back in the squad of the national team. End of the year she took part in the European Championships in Sweden. With Norway, she managed to defend against Russia the European title. A year later she was in the World Cup again against Russia in the final, but the Russian team sat down this time successfully. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Norway and Russia faced off in the finals over again. With Norway, she managed to again defend the European title in 2008. Riegelhuth won it with 51 goals scorer crown and was elected to the All-Star Team. With the Norwegian selection they finished third at the World Championships in China in 2009 and was re-elected to the All-Star Team. A year later Riegelhuth triumphed with the Norwegian team for the fourth consecutive year at the European Championships.

Your fourth World Cup denied Riegelhuth 2011 in Brazil. Through a 32:24 victory over France, she first won the world title. In summer 2012 Riegelhuth Koren again took part in the Olympic Games, where she again won the gold medal. On October 6, 2012 Riegelhuth scored her 800th international goal for Norway, which only Kjersti Grini, Cathrine Roll- Matthiesen, Susann Goksør Bjerkrheim and Trine Haltvik succeeded before her. At Euro 2012 in Serbia it was the fifth time in a row in the European Championship final, which won Montenegro. At the World Championships in 2013 she resigned from Norway in the quarterfinals. During the tournament they scored 13 goals in seven games.

Linn -Kristin Riegelhuth Koren has a German father. Her sister Betina Riegelhuth also plays in the highest Norwegian league. In summer 2011, she married the Norwegian handball player Einar Sand Koren.
