Luciano Bacheta
Akshay Luciano Bacheta ( born April 26, 1990 in Romford, England ) is a British racing driver. He won the 2012 FIA Formula 2 Championship. 2013 he appears in the Auto GP.
Career
Bacheta began his motorsport career in karting in 2004 and was active until 2006 in this sport. Early in his career was financially supported by his father's company. In 2006 he moved into the T -Cars - series in which racers aged 14 to 17 sedans were on the road, and immediately won the championship. He also was in the fall championship of Formula Palmer Audi made his debut in Formula racing. He won two races and finished third in the overall standings. In 2007 he competed in Formula Palmer Audi of regular and finished again in third place. He won four races. He then again took part in the fall championship of Formula Palmer Audi and reached the 14th place in the championship.
2008 Bacheta changed in 2.0 Eurocup Formula Renault and was 23rd in the overall standings. He also took part in six races of the Western European Formula Renault. In 2009, he remained in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and improved to 16th place overall. In addition, he competed in two races of the Western European Formula Renault. 2010 denied the Bacheta his third season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. This season he won our first race and was a total of two wins runner-up behind Kevin Korjus. He also took part in two races of the British and North European Formula Renault and entered as a guest starter for four races of the Formula BMW Europe.
In early 2011 tested Bacheta for Mercedes in the DTM. To a commitment it did not come. Bacheta changed in 2011 finally in the GP3 series with RSC Mücke Motorsport. In training at the Hungaroring caused an accident by Bacheta headlines. In a non- asphalt run-off area he came off the track, his car took off, flipped over and landed upside down on the guardrail. Bacheta was lucky that he struck with his helmet anywhere. He was unhurt and took part in the other race weekend. After the race weekend at the Hungaroring his engagement ended prematurely in the GP3 Series. In the overall standings, he was 22, while his team-mate Nigel Melker reached the 3rd place. Bacheta then moved to the FIA Formula 2 Championship, in which he took part in two events. In the Drivers' Championship, he reached the 13th place with a fifth place as best result. 2012 went Bacheta the full season in Formula 2 at the start. He succeeded in the first four races of all to decide for themselves. Thus he became the first driver since 2009 to the existing series, who won four races in a row. Later in the season, he still won a race. With a total of ten podium finishes, he won the championship title with 231.5 to 210 points before Mathéo Tuscher. As a reward for winning the title he was given the opportunity to attend a Formula 1 test at Williams.
2013 received Bacheta at Zele Racing a cockpit in the Auto GP.

Bachetas parents are from India. He also has ancestors from Italy. He is managed since 2011 by Anthony Hamilton.
