Luciano Borsato

Luciano Roberto Borsato ( born January 7, 1966 in Richmond Hill, Ontario ) is a former Italian- Canadian professional ice hockey player who during his career, including for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League as well as the Kölner Haie and Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey League played.

Career

Luciano Borsato, which, in addition to the Canadian and Italian citizenship, started his career in hockey team of Clarkson University. During his studies, he played four years for the selection in the college league NCAA. In the NHL Entry Draft in 1984, he was selected by the Winnipeg Jets at 135th place. Shortly before the end of the season 1987/88 he moved to the organization of the Jets, but was used until 1991, almost exclusively in the Moncton Hawks farm team in the American Hockey League. In the season 1988/89 he played briefly for Tappara Tampere in the Finnish SM- liiga. 1990/91 he played for the first time for the Jets in the National Hockey League. But in subsequent years, the right shooting Striker established in the top North American league. Until 1995, he played a total of 210 times for Winnipeg, scoring 91 points scorer.

For the 1995/96 season he moved for the second time to Europe and joined the Cologne Sharks at, for which he spent three years active in the German Ice Hockey League. He then played one year for HIFK Helsinki of the SM - liiga in before he almost completely precipitated the season 1999/2000 due to injury. From 2000 to 2002 Borsato was again active in Germany, played two seasons long for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers before he finished his career with 37 years.
