Lysekil Municipality
The municipality of Lysekil is located in the province of Bohuslän (Sweden) / Administration Västra Götaland County. It lies about 100 kilometers by road north of Gothenburg.
Geography
The municipality of Lysekil extends along the 25 km long Gullmarsfjordes which forms the municipal boundary to the south, but also includes the island Skaftöland, commonly referred to as Skaftö, south of the fjord and the offshore archipelago. The archipelago is some of the old cultural landscape. The Gullmarsfjord has a unique marine habitat.
It is always a conversation to build a bridge over the Gullmarsfjord. This would replace the current train running between Finnsbo and Skår / Bokenäs ferries and shorten the travel time between Lysekil and E6 at Torp and the Island Skaftö about 20 minutes. However, at present (2009 ), the plans back on ice.
Between Lysekil and Fiskebäckskil runs a regular ferry.
Economy
About a third of the population is employed in industry, which focuses on the main town of Lysekil and Brastad. Lysekil also has an important trading port with connections especially to Europe.

Another important industry is tourism, especially in the town of Lysekil itself and in Fiskebäckskil who has won in the last decades important.
