Mae Lan District

Amphoe Mae Lan ( Thai: อำเภอ แม่ ลาน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Pattani. The Pattani province is located southeast of the southern region of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Khok Pho the Nong Chik and Yarang in Pattani Province and Amphoe Mueang Yala Province Yala.

History

Mae Lan was on 1 April 1989 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by three Tambon Khok Pho Amphoe were separated from. On September 7, 1995 Mae Lan got the full Amphoe status.

Management

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
