Yarang District

Yarang ( Thai: ยะรัง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Pattani. The Pattani province is located in the southeast of South Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are ( from south clockwise): Amphoe Raman and the Mueang Yala Yala Province and Amphoe Mae Lan, Nong Chik, Mueang Pattani, Yaring, Thung Yang Daeng Mayo and the province of Pattani.

History

The old administration building was in Ban Ano Bulo in Tambon Yarang. Since this area was, however, plagued by floods every year, the government has in 1930 a new building was built in Ban Bin Ya soda. The current building was opened on 22 September 1996.

Management

Amphoe Yarang is divided into 12 subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 72 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Yarang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ยะรัง ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Yarang and Pitu Mudi.

There are also 12 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
