Maria Gusakova

Maria Ivanovna Gussakowa (Russian Мария Ивановна Гусакова; born February 2, 1931 in Timoschkino, Ryazan Oblast ) is a former Russian cross-country skier who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1950s and 1960s.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, she won over 10 miles up the gold medal, with the Russian season they won silver. Four years later she was with the bronze medal in Innsbruck complete her collection of medals at the Olympic Games when she finished in third place with the Russian squadron. Three more medals ( one each of gold, silver and bronze) she won at the World Championships in 1962.
