Marion Rolland

Marion Rolland ( born October 17, 1982 in Saint -Martin- d'Hères, Isère ) is a French alpine skier. She is successful mainly in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G. Her greatest success is to win the downhill world champion title in 2013.

Biography

Your first FIS races Rolland denied in December 1997. Their first start in the European Cup was in December 1998, she managed the first victory on 24 January 2006 in the Super- G of Megève. In the World Cup Rolland was the first time on 30 January 2004 in the departure of the house in the Enns Valley at the start. Just over a year later, on 26 February 2005 she went surprisingly in the departure of San Sicario number 12 and won her first World Cup points. The next World Cup points they took but it was only on 20 December 2006 27th place in the downhill in Val d'Isere. Three weeks later, she had to retire from the 2006/07 season after a fall in downhill training in Altenmarkt.

In the first World Cup race after her injury, the departure of Sestriere 9 February 2008, Rolland came eleventh. In the last downhill of the season 2011/12, at the World Cup finals in Schladming, Rolland reached their first World Cup podium with second place. In the downhill World Cup they thus achieved sixth place. The following day it reached third place in the Super- G also a podium finish. At the World Championships 2013 in Schladming Rolland was a surprise after a rather disappointing 22nd place in the Super- G world champion in downhill. Your best result in the 2012/13 season had previously been a fourth place in Cortina d' Ampezzo. In September 2013 Rolland suffered in the summer training in Chile a torn ACL on his right knee, which she will miss the entire 2013/14 season.
