Mark Fistric

Mark Fistric ( born June 1, 1986 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. Since August 2013, he plays for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League on the position of the defender.

Career

Fistric first played from 2000 to 2002 for the Maple Leaf Athletic Club in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. During the 2001/02 season he made his debut with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League, whose regulars squad he belonged from the fall of 2002. Before his final change in the WHL, he was in the AMHL Brian Benning Trophy as the best defender in the league. With the Giants Fistric spent four successful years were crowned in his last year by winning the President's Cup and participating in the Memorial Cup. In addition, he had participated in the Top Prospects Game of the Canadian Hockey League in 2004 and was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the first round to 28th by the Dallas Stars. For his achievements at the Vancouver Giants, he was accepted as the third player in the Giants Ring of Honour in the Pacific Coliseum on January 23, 2011.

In the summer of 2006 Fistric joined the franchise in the Dallas Stars, where he played one and a half years for the Iowa Stars farm team in the American Hockey League. The rookie secured in Iowa immediately a regular place and managed mid-season 2007/ 08 the leap into the NHL squad to the Dallas Stars. There, the defender came at first only sporadically inserts and so he spent a large part of the season 2008/ 09 with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. With the Moose Fistric reached the Calder Cup final, the final round of the AHL championship. There was defeated Manitoba the Hershey Bears in the best- of-seven series after six games with 2:4.

From the beginning of the game year 2009/ 10 Mark Fistric was laid to the root cadres of the Dallas Stars. In his first full season in the National Hockey League the defender completed 67 games. Here, in a game the Stars against the Los Angeles Kings succeeded him on 22 October 2009, his first NHL goal. On January 14, 2013, was transferred in exchange for a third-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2013 to the Edmonton Oilers. For the 2013/14 season Fistric has been committed by the Anaheim Ducks.
